Process / Production Engineer (Equipment Design)
About this role
We are looking for a Process / Production Engineer to design the hardware that turns our process into a repeatable, scalable production line. As hardware designer, you will develop the equipment, tooling and fixtures for dosing, mixing, casting, curing and demolding of solid rocket motors, and take them from concept to installed machines. Good production equipment starts with a good process understanding. You will work at the interface between process engineering, mechanical design and the shop floor, and your designs will decide how fast, how safe and how reliable our production becomes.
About us We're a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications. We are building our first production facility in Steyerberg, Lower Saxony, and are applying our knowledge toward serial production of solid rocket motors. We are working hard to build something truly spectacular.
To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you're excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you. At our company, job titles and career progression are earned, not determined by years of experience alone. They reflect the responsibility you take on and the dedication you bring to each project.
If you're ready to rise to the challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Key responsibilities Develop process equipment concepts for dosing, vacuum mixing, vacuum casting, curing and demolding, from requirement definition to detailed design. Design tooling, mandrels, carriers, transport boxes and fixtures for motor casings and containers, with a focus on manufacturability and safe handling. Translate process parameters (pot life, mixing profiles, vacuum levels, flow behaviour) into equipment specifications and design requirements.
