About this role
About the role We are currently recruiting a Process Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The candidate will form part of an established engineering team and report to the Engineering manager. The Process Engineer will be responsible for various projects including development of current manufacturing processes for new products, new equipment development and installation, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
Avery Dennison Medical manufacturing processes include rotary die cutting & converting; extrusion; liquid filling into tubes, sachets & bottles; thermal sealing; ultrasonic & RF welding; coating; lamination; packaging and printing. Key Responsibilities This is an on-site position based in Longford, Ireland. Ensure all production equipment, processes and work areas meet Health & Safety standards by supporting the completion of risk assessments and process related documentation.
Lead process troubleshooting and optimisation by utilising structured problem solving techniques and data analysis to resolve complex issues. Lead process improvement projects by utilising lean tools to optimise production processes and maximise cost savings. Identify the root cause and implement solutions to equipment and process related non-conformances and document them using the NCR and CAPA processes. Oversee and analyse new and existing processes, workflows, and data to ensure they are production ready and to discover areas requiring improvements and upgrades.
Required: Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electronic, or automation) with 3+ years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Hands-on ability to analyze and solve complex problems, work independently, and manage multiple process improvement projects with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments and fast-paced settings.
Skills you need to succeed: Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks to strict timelines, with validation experience being an advantage. Knowledge of medical device manufacturing, GMP environments, lean tools, and DMAIC processes.
