About this role

IPP personnel must obtain the appropriate level of credential outlined in DAF policy for the DoD Credentialing Program for Prevention Personnel (D-CPPP) within 90 days of hire. This credential is a condition of employment and must be maintained throughout employment within the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW). This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.

Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, 0101 Series.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: Behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include 1. Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to the prevention of violence and promotion of helping-seeking and resilience.

2. Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to integrated primary prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems. 3. In-depth knowledge of OAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and thorough knowledge of the OAF community and the unique challenges that OAF families face; or equivalent knowledge. 4. Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions to inform prevention efforts; ability to formulate and conduct assessments and evaluations to implement and monitor primary prevention plans.

5. Skill and ability to provide professional advisory services, develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build, and use models and simulation techniques for prevention. 6. Ability to identify individual and community risk and protective factors in order to determine needed primary prevention activities to meet the needs of the base populace. 7. Ability to work well with others in a team approach and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
