Power BI Consultant
About this role
The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, performing statistical analysis and providing insights that support data-informed decision making across the organisation. The role involves working with stakeholders across multiple teams to support research initiatives and improve operational effectiveness through data analysis and reporting. Responsibilities Collect, cleanse and analyse large datasets from a variety of sources.
Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, relationships and patterns in data. Develop and maintain statistical models to support forecasting and predictive analytics. Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. Create and present reports and visualisations that communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders. Maintain data quality and accuracy through regular validation and review processes.
Support best practice in data modelling, reporting and self-service analytics. Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide analytical support for projects and initiatives. Essential Criteria Demonstrated experience using Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, time intelligence, data modelling, business metrics and user experience design. Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including tabular, text and geospatial datasets. Experience connecting Power BI to Azure SQL, Data Lake, APIs and SharePoint. Ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Experience working both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst, Power BI Developer or a similar role, including significant recent Power BI delivery experience. Desirable Criteria Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300). Knowledge of Copilot in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Familiarity with Python or R and associated analytical libraries such as Pandas and NumPy. Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application to data analysis.
