About this role
About Us The Asian Resource Centre Croydon (ARCC) is a leading community anchor organisation established in 1999, dedicated to improving health, wellbeing, equality, opportunity and community resilience across Croydon and beyond. For over 25 years, ARCC has worked alongside diverse communities to address inequalities, amplify community voice and create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. Through community engagement, advocacy, partnership working, research, capacity building and service delivery, ARCC supports residents to overcome barriers, influence decisions and access the support they need.
ARCC works collaboratively with local communities, the NHS, local authorities, voluntary and community organisations, funders, academic institutions and strategic partners to develop community-led solutions that improve outcomes and reduce inequalities. As a trusted community organisation, ARCC is committed to: Community empowerment and participation Equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging Tackling health and social inequalities Partnership and collaboration Innovation and continuous improvement Delivering high-quality services and support Project Overview Anchor & Bloom is a community-based programme delivered by ARCC to support women from Asian and minoritised communities who have experienced domestic abuse and related trauma.
The project recognises that many women face barriers to accessing mainstream services due to stigma, language, cultural expectations and fear of judgement. Anchor & Bloom creates safe, culturally sensitive spaces where women can access support, rebuild confidence and begin their recovery. The programme combines trauma-informed counselling, creative therapy groups and practical recovery workshops with community outreach and early identification of domestic abuse.
Alongside direct support for survivors, the project works to reduce isolation and stigma by opening up conversations within the community and strengthening safe pathways into specialist services. To deliver this work effectively, ARCC is recruiting two Project Coordinators to lead the Mental Health and Domestic Abuse (DASV) strands of the programme and two community champions. These roles will work closely together to ensure women receive safe, coordinated and culturally competent support throughout their journey.
