No assumptions will be made about your experience. To qualify for the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05. Examples of work experience include but are not limited to performing administrative support duties such as gathering and reviewing statistical and program data; working with higher graded analysts to ensure information gathered is complete and accurate; assist in reviewing productivity improvement; and using automated systems and databases to accomplish work activities.
To qualify for the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07. Examples of work experience include but are not limited to performing administrative support duties such as gathering and reviewing statistical and program data; providing guidance on administrative policies and procedures; and using automated systems and databases to accomplish work activities, manipulate data and produce reports.
Substitution of Education for the Specialized Experience Requirement: For GS-07: one full year of progressively higher-level graduate education, if related, or Superior Academic Achievement. Superior Academic Achievement (See OPM's General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. For GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B.
or J.D., if related. - OR - Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet the qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
