About this role
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as having experience: Utilizing a variety of types of office automation software, i.e., database, spreadsheet and word processing; and knowledge of the similarities, differences and integration of the different software types. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats; Generating summary reports, preparing feedback surveys, and conducting data collections and presenting findings; and Assisting and/or supporting workforce analysis, operating program analysis and records management for the jurisdiction.
--OR-- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. --OR-- Combination of specialized experience and education. Candidates for the GS-12 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-11 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience: Developing and updating file plans and procedures for paper and electronic records so that records are organized; Performing administrative functions, including compliance with human capital policies and procedures, workforce efficiency and effectiveness studies and conflict resolution intervention; and Developing standard operating procedures and program evaluation plans.
Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-12 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience: Providing management and program analysis support to the Administrative Officer on the Jurisdiction's program operations; Providing advice on agency-wide Human Resources policies, procedures and guidelines and the Architect of the Capitol Collective Bargaining Agreement; and Conducting reviews of House Office Buildings functional programs to determine if they contribute to efficient and effective operations.
