Loan Servicing Officer
About this role
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, and specialized experience as defined below. Time in Grade GS-15: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
GS-15: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-14), or it's non-federal equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as: providing leadership over a division or branch area; resolving high-level mortgage loan issues received from legislators and national offices; maintaining customer advocacy and engagement for internal and external groups; providing effective customer service over various program branches; performing the full range of supervisory duties over a multiple-graded staff; developing and implementing operating plans to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse, that improve processing capabilities; utilizing mortgage loan experience and oral presentation skills to explain programs to senior executives, political leadership, colleagues, and subordinates; writing and editing position papers, regulations, policies, and technical assistance directives.
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-15 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
