Allica Bank is expanding into Sweden, and we're looking for someone to take our proven UK tech stack and shape it into the secure, compliant platform that Allica Bank Sweden will run on. Allica is a UK bank that backs established SMEs, the businesses that form the backbone of local communities and have too often been overlooked by traditional banks and fintechs.

In the UK, Allica has quickly become one of the fastest-growing fintech firms. Now we're bringing that model and ambition to Sweden, building on the technology that already powers Allica in the UK. Role Description As our founding Lead Platform Engineer in Sweden, you'll set the technical foundation for Allica Bank Sweden's cloud self-service platform and be personally accountable for it. You'll report directly to the CTO and work closely with our UK Platform Engineering Team on shared standards and tooling.

The UK stack gives us a strong starting point, but it won't transfer seamlessly. Much will need to be adapted and developed along the way, and you'll be the one deciding where to align with the UK and where to deliberately diverge. This is a hands-on role. You'll build alongside the team, make consequential technical calls independently from day one, and mentor platform engineers as the function grows. Your customers are internal: product and data engineering teams choose whether to use what you build, so adoption is what we measure.

We're in start-up mode in Sweden, so expect a fast-moving environment with a lot of ownership. Principal Accountabilities - Own Allica Sweden's instance of the Allica platform, adapting the UK stack for Sweden: landing zones, subscriptions, network topology, container runtime and resilience patterns. - Build the reusable core: Terraform modules, deployment templates and platform services that let product teams self-serve production-grade infrastructure.
