About this role

For the GS 14: You must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing all of the following: Interpreting and applying Federal pay and leave laws, regulations, and policies to advise managers, human resources staff, or employees on pay setting, leave entitlements, work schedules, premium pay, incentives, or other compensation matters; AND Using Federal payroll and time and attendance systems to review payroll, time and attendance, leave, debt, or compensation records; identify discrepancies or processing errors; and determine or coordinate corrective actions to ensure accurate employee pay; AND Coordinating Federal compensation, payroll, time and attendance, or leave administration activities or projects, including tracking actions, resolving issues, briefing stakeholders, and documenting outcomes or recommended actions; AND Leading or providing technical guidance to human resources, payroll, or program staff by assigning or coordinating work, monitoring progress, reviewing completed work, resolving technical issues, or identifying training needs.

Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS14 level. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
