Lead Engineering Manager

About this role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineering Manager to lead and scale our engineering teams within a specific area building a high-performance trading platform. You will be responsible for people leadership, delivery excellence, and technical direction across a hybrid infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and business, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and scalability in a latency-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities Lead and manage multiple engineering teams (40–60+ engineers) Own delivery, quality, and technical outcomes across your engineering area Partner closely with Product, Trading, and Senior Engineering leadership to translate business requirements into technical execution Drive engineering strategy and cross-team alignment across the area Coordinate architectural decisions and their implementation across teams Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production systems Own the area roadmap and resource allocation across teams Identify and address systemic technical and organizational risks and ensure the long-term scalability and health of the engineering area Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow Engineering Managers and support the development of engineering teams Foster a culture of ownership, customer first, and result-oriented Requirements 7+ years of professional software engineering experience 3+ years in an Engineering Manager role, with experience managing Engineering Managers or Team Leads Background in financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains Strong understanding of backend systems, ideally with hands-on experience in Ruby Experience operating systems on AWS (EC2, networking, security, monitoring) Experience working with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies Familiarity with observability tools (metrics, logging, alerting) and performance monitoring Will be a plus Experience working with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments Hands-on experience in Ruby Experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems Exposure to trading, fintech, or market-data platforms Experience scaling teams and systems Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools We offer 20 paid vacation days per year 10 paid sick leave days per year Public holidays as per the company's approved Public holiday list Medical insurance Opportunity to work remotely Professional education budget Language learning budget Wellness budget (gym membership, sports gear and related expenses)
