About this role

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: ¿ Two years of telecommunications and network experience demonstrating skill and knowledge in enterprise connectivity. A strong technical understanding of telephone systems, cabling, and IP networking equipment is required. ¿ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform cable installations. ¿ Must hold a certification that meets or exceeds DoDD 8570 IAT Level II security compliance. CompTIA Security+ is required within six months of employment.

CCNA certification is highly preferred but not required. ¿ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document technical processes. ¿ Must possess a valid driver¿s license and be eligible to operate vehicles on and off base in compliance with U.S. base and Japanese driving regulations. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Experience with telecommunications standards, including fixed-plant cabling and telephone technologies.

2. Experience working in a large-scale IT maintenance environment, with knowledge of maintenance concepts and methods. 3. Experience in network routing and switching, with strong skills and knowledge of IP-routed networks¿particularly in configuration, engineering, and system deployment 4. Knowledgeable in data security, with practical experience in PCI, HIPAA, and PII highly preferred. 5. A strong background in customer service in a support role.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: This position has been designated as a position of trust. The incumbent must be eligible for a Tier 3 (Secret Clearance) background investigation to satisfy IT Level II designation. Appointment and continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of the security investigation. This activity is a Drug-free workplace. The use of illegal drugs by NAF employees, whether on or off duty, cannot and will not be tolerated.
