In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes the following: 1) Designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining complex relational databases and front-end tools across secure (SIPR) and unsecure (NIPR) enclaves, including integrating multi-format data stores and implementing cloud replication technologies; 2) Serving as a database administrator managing physical and virtual instances across current (N) and prior (N-1) software versions, formulating backup/restore protocols, and executing audits to ensure 100% operational disaster recovery readiness; 3) Conducting IT Life Cycle Management activities-including requirements validation, data modeling, capacity planning, and query optimization-to maintain 24/7/365 mission-critical database availability worldwide; and 4) Executing technical security assessments against Department of War (DoW) information assurance standards, remediating system vulnerabilities, and preparing accreditation documentation under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to achieve Authority to Operate (ATO).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). To be eligible for promotion or placement under this plan, applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, or within 30 calendar days after the date of the rating for open continuous announcements.
