IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)
About this role
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Processing user account and access requests (i.e.System Authorization Access Request) by verifying information against checklists and established procedures.
This includes tasks like confirming training completion, checking for required signatures, and escalating non-standard requests to senior staff. - Assisting senior specialists with cybersecurity audits by gathering and organizing compliance evidence (e.g., screenshots, log files) and documenting findings in a standardized format. - Supporting vulnerability management efforts by running pre-configured vulnerability scans using enterprise tools (such as ACAS) and compiling the raw output into a standard report for review by a senior analyst.
- Providing basic technical support to users for common and well-documented cybersecurity issues. This includes tasks like responding to help desk tickets, following a Standard Operating Procedure to resolve routine problems (such as basic Public Key Infrastructure certificate issues), and escalating more complex incidents. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: The incumbent applies this competency when processing System Authorization Access Requests (SAARs) and other access forms, ensuring all information is accurate and complete. Attention to detail is also critical when reviewing system audit logs for anomalies and performing compliance checks against Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
