INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER
About this role
NP-03: This position has a selective placement factor (SPF) that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Advanced knowledge of and experience in the use of statics and dynamics, thermal and stress analysis, material science, design layout, the use of parametric studies, general laboratory equipment, electronic test equipment, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, programming, modeling and simulation, and computer operation.
Additionally, the position requires demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, the ability to operate with a high degree of independence, and the strategic initiative to autonomously determine and execute the optimal path forward to accomplish complex mission objectives. In addition to the Basic education and SPF Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5/10 grade level or NP-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of hardware unique to satellite or hypersonic systems, the design of these systems, and testing and integration of these systems; 2) Using 3-D computer aided design (CAD) programs; and 3) Utilizing knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
