About this role

This position is a developmental position and will be filled at the GG-07, GG-09 or GG-12 level with promotion potential to the GG-12. The individual selected for this position may be promoted to the target level without further competition upon meeting any legal and regulatory requirements. This is a GG-07 target GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-07/GG-09 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-07/GS-09 level.

The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In Order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Applicant must possess quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles and practices in a professional or administrative occupation, such as would be extended in a graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; and/or an intensive, practical knowledge of a technical field and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches or procedures.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION: GG-07: One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multisource intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments.

2. Knowledge of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation. 3. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, interrelationships and operations; knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified information.

4. Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients. 5. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.

6. Ability to handle and maintain control of classified material, assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments and make effective recommendations under conditions or urgency and pressure. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: 1. This position is covered by the DCIPS, and as such will subject the incumbent to those examinations and or tests that are necessary to obtain and retain a security clearance and any special accesses required by the position in accordance with AFI 36-1101.

This position is a testing designated position and as such requires periodic urinalysis testing. Failure to comply with any of the special requirements, when required, will subject the incumbent of this position to reassignment or disciplinary adverse actions, including demotion or removal. 2. Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 3. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
