Institutional Research Assistant (Open to both U.S. Citizens and Federal Employees)

About this role

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized requirements. To qualify for the GS-08, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-07, which includes: Experience gathering and analyzing data using computerized databases and statistical analysis software, and using spreadsheets, charts, or graphs to accurately report results. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Mathematical Reasoning: Performs computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly; solves practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of mathematical techniques such as formulas and percentages.

Technology Application: Uses machines, tools, instruments, or equipment effectively; uses computers and computer applications to analyze and communicate information in the appropriate format. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
