Insights & Foresight Specialist
About this role
Are you a dreamer, innovator, thinker and a do-er who believes in contributing to something that makes difference? Pursue your passion. Join PMI. How You’ll Make a Difference You will support PMI’s research agenda across two complementary areas, with responsibilities balanced between hands-on insights research — survey, qualitative, and secondary studies that inform thought leadership — as well as business analysis and foresight research that connects macroeconomic, industry, and technology developments to PMI’s thought leadership priorities.
The role carries a particular, though not exclusive, emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of work. Working in coordination with the Manager, Research & Insights, you will help ensure PMI’s thought leadership is evidence-led, forward-looking, and aligned to business priorities. What You’ll Bring to the Role Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s strongly preferred in economics, business, public policy, international relations, strategy, computer science, or related field.
3–6 years of experience in research, insights, analytics, strategy, or related roles such as management consulting, corporate strategy, or macroeconomic or industry research. Experience researching, analyzing, or advising on AI trends, technology disruption, or the future of work. Demonstrated experience leading trends, foresight, or macroeconomic research initiatives independently. Experience translating research into executive-facing insights, narratives, and strategic recommendations.
Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional, or global environments preferred. Preference for candidates with labor, workforce, or future-of-work interest or expertise; familiarity with project and portfolio management or professional-services domains a plus. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with demonstrated methodological rigor. Comfort with both qualitative/survey research and quantitative techniques (e.g., segmentation, benchmarking, driver analysis), including the ability to help identify measurable variables from business questions.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the AI landscape and its trajectory, including ability to assess credibility of claims and translate technical developments into business and professional implications. Experience in macroeconomic analysis and trends/foresight techniques. Structured problem-solving and hypothesis-driven thinking honed in consulting or strategy environments. Ability to synthesize complex, multi-source information into clear, strategic insight.
