About this role

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-05 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Assisting visitors and callers by answering routine questions and directing them to the appropriate person or office.

Using office software to prepare, edit, format, proofread, store, and retrieve documents. Receiving, reviewing, routing, and maintaining mail, records, files, or other administrative materials. Maintaining accurate logs, records, or tracking information and performing routine clerical support duties. OR Education: To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have four years above high school level to substitute education for experience.

This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. (Must submit transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: You must have a combination of the specialized experience and education as described above that totals 100% when combined.

Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. (Must submit transcripts). And Typing Proficiency: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
