Human Resources Specialist
About this role
To qualify for a Human Resources Specialist, GS-14, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Program Management: Conceiving, planning, and managing aspects of HR programs or projects of broad scope impacting Federal Civilian HR systems. Project & Study Leadership: Coordinating and overseeing complex Federal Civilian HR studies or projects with far-reaching or agency-wide impact.
Policy Execution: Designing, integrating, implementing, or evaluating Federal Civilian HR policies, practices, or strategic initiatives. Policy Analysis: Conducting comprehensive HR policy analyses of statutes, regulations, case law, or government-wide policies. Strategic Presentation: Presenting complex HR information, strategic advice, and data in a clear, concise, and logical manner to executive leadership, both orally and in writing.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
