HOUSING MANAGEMENT
About this role
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Housing Management Series, 1173. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-1173-07: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes, (1) Assisting with housing program support by gathering data and performing inspections to ensure compliance with policies and transaction documents; (2) Providing information to military members, families, and civilians on available housing options, eligibility requirements, and application procedures for both privatized and community housing; (3) Aiding in the resolution of resident or landlord/tenant issues by providing information on policies, procedures, rights, and responsibilities; (4) Preparing various forms of correspondence, reports, and housing-related documents for review.
OR EDUCATION: Applicants must have 1-full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievements. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of official transcripts. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-1173-09: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes, (1) Monitoring housing project operations by reviewing reports, conducting inspections, and gathering data to ensure compliance with established agreements and standards; (2) Assisting in the financial analysis of housing accounts by reviewing budgets, tracking funds, or verifying disbursements and calculations; (3) Providing information and support to personnel and leadership regarding housing programs, policies, and procedures; (4) Resolving common issues or problems related to housing assignments, tenant relations, and maintenance by researching and interpreting applicable guidelines.
