Head of Performance (CEO office) Shine · Performance team (CEO Office) Location: Berlin or Amsterdam Shine is the financial copilot for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Founded by serial entrepreneurs Rico Andersen and Martin Hegelund, Shine is a leading European fintech unicorn on a mission to restore the joy of running a business, by ending wasted time on financial admin. Your Role as Head of Business Performance This is a brand-new function at Shine, and you’ll be the first person to build it. You report to the CEO and work day to day with the Chief of Staff.

Your mandate is to create the system senior leaders use to set targets, review performance, and make decisions, and then make sure it is used. You’ll design it, implement it, run it, and build the Performance team around it as we scale. Why now Shine has grown fast, and as part of Cegid we now operate across several countries and business lines. The next stage needs one shared way of running the business: the same metrics everywhere, one review rhythm, and clear ownership of every number.

Today that lives in many places. This role brings it together and makes it how we operate. You’ll work hand in hand with the AI Enablement team, which also sits in the CEO office, to build the tooling and automation that makes this function scale beyond dashboards and decks. What you'll do Design and build Shine's first company-wide performance system: a KPI framework with a clear line from strategic goals down to team-level metrics, and the playbook leaders use to run it.

Design Shine’s variable compensation framework with the CEO and People team, so incentives follow the same metrics the business is run on, and take on the operational running of it once live. Implement it as well as design it: select and roll out the tooling, get leadership buy-in, and embed it into how the company operates. Establish and run a recurring business performance review cadence with senior leadership (weekly/monthly/quarterly), owning the executive dashboards and reporting that come with it.

Own KPI governance across the business: define what makes a good metric, challenge ones that don't hold up, and keep definitions consistent across teams. Partner with the AI Enablement team in the CEO office to automate the performance system as it matures, and grow the Performance team around it over time. Act as a hands-on change agent: coach senior leaders on using data to run their businesses, and shift how performance is discussed and acted on day to day.

Work closely with Finance, Data, and business unit leaders company-wide. How we measure success Senior leaders run their businesses from the performance system. One set of KPI definitions across the company, owned and trusted. A business review rhythm that leads to decisions. A team in place that keeps making the system faster and lighter to run. About You You’ve worked in a top-tier tech, strategy consulting, or PE value-creation environment and know what excellent performance frameworks, KPI design, and executive reporting look like.

Critically, you’ve gone beyond advising: you’ve personally implemented a performance system inside a company, rolled it out, driven adoption, and kept it running. You speak SaaS fluently: ARR, retention, unit economics, cohort behaviour. You can challenge a number as well as report it. You’re comfortable enough with data (SQL, data models) to work directly with data and engineering teams and judge what’s feasible. You're comfortable with performance and reporting tools (e.g.

BI/dashboarding platforms like Power BI or Tableau, OKR/KPI platforms like Leapsome, Quantive or Workboard) and know how to pick the right tool for the job rather than defaulting to what you know. You have real zero-to-one experience: you’re energized by building something from nothing, rather than only optimizing what already exists. You have strong entrepreneurial instincts: comfortable with ambiguity, biased to action, and able to build structure without over-engineering it too early.

You have the gravitas and communication skills to influence senior leaders and hold them accountable, without formal authority over their P&Ls. You have some experience building or leading a small team, and you’re excited to grow one, working closely with the AI Enablement team in the CEO office. You’re fluent in English; another European language is a plus. What you’ll get Direct exposure to the CEO and exec team from the start.
