UK remote
Global Regulatory Compliance Lead
About this role
About Aspora People on the move deserve a bank that moves with them. Since 2022, Aspora has been building a borderless financial operating system that makes money as mobile and transparent as its users. Backed by influential venture capitalists like Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Hummingbird Ventures, Y Combinator & Global Founders Capital. We're a team of 150+ across India, the UK, the UAE, EU and the US, working with extreme ownership, radical candour, and an obsession with customer impact.
We celebrate builders who question assumptions, ship fast, and turn regulatory complexity into elegant solutions. If you’re driven to redefine what global banking can be, we’d love to build the future with you. About the Role People build lives across borders, and their finances should move with them. We’re building Aspora for the global diaspora, starting with Indians abroad. Regulation sits at the centre of that ambition.
This role exists to turn a complex set of requirements into a practical way to build and run the business. One global framework, local differences only where the law needs them, and decisions made by clear frameworks rather than daily escalations. You’ll lead licensing, regulator engagement, product advice, safeguarding oversight, customer protection and operational resilience. You’ll report to our COO, working alongside our Global MLRO.
You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance and local compliance owners to turn requirements into working controls. You’ll own the regulatory calls on launches, changes and the commitments we make to regulators. Who You Are You don’t see regulation as a reason to say no, or as something to work around. You know a hard boundary from a choice, and your depth goes well beyond AML or licensing paperwork.
You’ve scaled fintechs before. You’ve helped a payments, remittance or e-money business grow, in house or as a consultant, and can show what you changed. You turn expertise into execution. You’ve translated payments and e-money requirements into customer journeys, controls and processes, with fewer failures and less friction to show for it. You get permissions over the line. You’ve owned licensing or variation work and regulatory reporting, and kept applications, governance and operating reality consistent throughout.
