About this role
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Global Inventory Controlling & Material Ledger Expert to oversee inventory accounting and valuation processes across the organization. This role serves as the central expert for inventory-related accounting matters, ensuring compliance with IFRS requirements, supporting stock-taking activities, collaborating with auditors, and driving process improvements within SAP.
The successful candidate will act as a key business partner to Group Accounting, Controlling, Supply Chain, Logistics, Local Finance, and IT teams, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and transparent financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Inventory Accounting & Valuation Own and oversee inventory accounting processes across the organization. Ensure accurate inventory valuation in accordance with IFRS, particularly IAS 2 Inventories .
Review and analyze inventory movements, valuation adjustments, and related financial impacts. Support period-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory. Maintain and further develop inventory accounting policies and procedures together with Group Accounting. Material Ledger & ERP Expertise Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP Material Ledger. Analyze inventory transactions, movement types, and valuation processes within SAP.
Navigate and reconcile financial impacts between balance sheet accounts, material ledger, and profit & loss statements. Support troubleshooting and process improvements within SAP FI, CO, and MM modules. Partner with IT and master data teams to resolve system issues, authorization topics, and data quality concerns. Stock Taking & Inventory Controls Coordinate global stock-taking activities and inventory count procedures.
Define stock count schedules and monitor compliance across locations. Provide training and guidance on inventory counting procedures and controls. Monitor stock count results and ensure appropriate follow-up actions. Collaborate with local controllers and logistics teams responsible for operational stock counts. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management Coordinate closely with external auditors and act as the primary point of contact for audit-related inquiries Build strong partnerships with the key stakeholders within the organization Support cross-functional initiatives and projects impacting inventory valuation and reporting.
