GER - Finance Assistant

About this role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Non-Insurance Financial Reporting team in Group Finance. You do not need to have worked in finance before. We are more interested in your willingness to learn, attention to detail, communication skills and determination to complete the work you take on. You will receive practical experience across financial reporting, accounting, reconciliations, journals, audit and financial controls.

You will work with experienced, supportive colleagues and gradually take on greater responsibility as your confidence and knowledge develop. What you’ll be doing: Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for non-insurance legal entities Preparing reconciliations, analysis, supporting schedules and journals Posting journals in line with agreed processes, evidence and approval requirements Gathering information and investigating straightforward reporting queries Supporting external audit requests with evidence, analysis and clear documentation Responding to routine reporting and systems queries with guidance from the team Assisting with testing, documentation and data gathering for finance change activity Sharing observations and contributing to agreed process improvements Who we’re looking for: A genuine interest in learning about finance, accounting and financial reporting Good attention to detail and a careful approach to completing tasks Clear written and verbal communication skills Confidence asking questions and seeking support when required Basic analytical and problem-solving ability An organised and reliable approach to deadlines and allocated work Basic Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft tools A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider team Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
