GENERAL ENGINEER
About this role
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Demonstrated expertise in overseeing the complete lifecycle of test site operations, including the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of critical systems such as steam-powered catapults (TC-7, TC-13), Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS), and Jet Blast Deflectors (JBD).
2) Strong background in anticipating and resolving complex technical issues impacting system performance, reliability, and safety. 3) Ensuring the operational readiness and compliance of essential infrastructure, including but not limited to: steam plants, power distribution, and fire suppression systems. 4) Managing annual budgets for test site operations, tracking labor and material expenditures, and collaborating with financial managers to ensure proper funding and fiscal responsibility.
5) Experienced in training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians, providing expert guidance on complex technical challenges to foster their professional development and enhance the overall capability of the workforce. 6) Leading comprehensive T&E efforts. This includes directing the installation and modification of test equipment, leading feasibility studies for new technical approaches, and analyzing complex test data to produce formal reports with actionable recommendations.
