General Engineer

About this role

This position has a Basic Requirement for the 0801 series: Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

*NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. You must have one year Specialized Experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private/military sector) giving the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position.

Experience must be reflected in your resume. Specialized experience required for this position is: Experience directing and orchestrating real-time anomaly resolution for high-risk spacecraft and ground system contingencies. Experience in space systems, cloud-based architectures, and ground networks, exercising authoritative oversight over all hardware, software, and procedural documentation. Experience applying extensive background in satellite vehicle and ground network development, coordinates rigorous Integration and Test (I&T) campaigns.
