Founding Engineer

About this role

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage AI fintech company building automation tooling for private market operations. You will sit at the very center of the company, working side by side with the founding team and early customers to design, build, and ship the core product. The work directly shapes both the technology and the direction of the company. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and iterate on core platform capabilities including AI agents that capture data from inboxes, web portals, and connected sources.

- Develop backend services and production-grade APIs that power reconciliation, journal entry generation, and reporting workflows. - Integrate and operate large language models and agentic systems in a production environment. - Work directly with design partners and customers to gather requirements, communicate trade-offs, and inform the product roadmap. - Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from early design through deployment and iteration.

- Help attract and evaluate exceptional talent as the team grows. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, with evidence of having built and shipped real products or meaningful side projects. - Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with strong computer science and engineering fundamentals. - Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic or autonomous systems in production. - Experience building or maintaining AI-native operations infrastructure, such as systems for accounting, reconciliation, or treasury.

- Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury processes. - Full-product-lifecycle capability, rather than a narrowly backend-only or frontend-only profile. - High ownership mindset with comfort operating in an early-stage environment with ambiguity and fast-paced execution. - Eligibility to work in Germany; visa sponsorship is available. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: 70,000 to 110,000 EUR annually.

Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates. LOCATION On-site in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
