Financial Specialist

About this role

To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience must include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Reviewing financial status reports and ledgers to identify significant accounting issues, variances, and abnormal balances. Initiating corrective adjustments, journal entries, or follow-up actions to ensure all unresolved accounting discrepancies are remediated. Gathering feedback from internal and external stakeholders on service delivery to support continuous organizational improvement. Developing recommendations for management to enhance or upgrade financial tools, automated applications, and operational reporting methods.

Operating financial management systems and electronic tools to monitor budget execution data, commitments, and account balances.
