Financial Analyst

About this role

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. The experience need not have been in the federal government.

To qualify for the GS-07: Applicants must have either: One (1) year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement -OR- One (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience MUST include one (1) of the following: Reviewing and analyzing financial data, identifying errors and/or formulating questions Working with financial data in excel or other financial systems To qualify for the GS-09: Applicants must have either: Two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B.

or J.D., if related -OR- One (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience MUST include everything from the GS-07 above AND one (1) of the following: Working in a team responsible for budgeting or accounting for an organization Analyzing and reporting financial data using financial software and excel To qualify for the GS-11: Applicants must have either: Three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.

degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or LL.M., if related -OR- One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience MUST include everything from the GS-09 above AND the following: Working with large amounts of financial data, cleaning, analyzing, identifying trends, and providing recommendations to management To qualify for the GS-12: For the GS-12 level, education cannot be substituted for experience.

Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience MUST include everything from the GS-11 above AND one (1) of the following following: Reporting expenses of an organization, working with management to formulate forecasts, and presenting results to stakeholders Managing projects and process improvement efforts For the GS-12 level, education cannot be substituted for experience.
