Finance Business Partner - Retail Annuities
About this role
We’re looking for a Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Annuity Finance team as a Finance Business Partner. In this role you will work at the heart of a collaborative, commercially focused Finance function and will combine financial and actuarial understanding with clear communication and commercial judgement, to help colleagues understand performance, evaluate options and take well-informed action. You don’t need to be a Retail Annuity specialist to thrive in this role, what matters most is your ability to understand the wider context, work confidently with stakeholders and turn complex information into practical insight.

What you'll be doing: Supporting senior finance leaders in understanding the main drivers of financial performance Partnering with stakeholders to provide constructive challenge and support commercial decision-making Building trusted relationships across L&G Retail and the wider organisation Contributing to financial plans and forecasts across IFRS, new business, Solvency II, cash, expenses and sales Translating complex financial information into clear, relevant and actionable insight Assessing the financial implications of strategic, commercial and operational decisions Monitoring relevant regulatory, accounting and risk developments Ensuring all analysis, decisions made and activity undertaken consider the fair treatment of our customers Who we're looking for: A Qualified Actuary, with relevant experience across life insurance, annuities, PRT, protection or savings Strong business-partnering skills and the confidence to build trusted stakeholder relationships The ability to understand complex issues and communicate them clearly to different audiences Commercial awareness and evidence of applying financial insight to decisions Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to think independently Experience balancing priorities and delivering effectively in a fast-moving environment Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, risk management and relevant insurance reporting frameworks, with confidence to work independently and exercise sound judgement Understanding of the annual financial planning cycle, monthly/quarterly forecasting cycle, cost management and, where relevant, cost allocation methodologies and their impacts Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
