About this role
You must meet both the Basic Requirement and the Specialized Experience to qualify for this series as described below. BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR 1301 SERIES Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR Combination of education and experience: education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
GS-14 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-13). Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 3 of 4 of the following: Managing major scientific or engineering project segments against established cost and schedule milestones.
Formulating operating spend plans for assigned engineering or physical science project areas. Advising management on the technical maturity and performance of new technologies. Conducting risk assessments to identify operational hazards in technical facility operations. GS-15 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-14). Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 3 of 4 of the following: Directing the executive execution of multi-million-dollar scientific or engineering capital asset project portfolios. Evaluating contractor performance against approved project baseline agreements. Serving as a recognized technical authority to resolve complex engineering or physical science problems.
Establishing risk response plans to mitigate technical, environmental, or safety hazards across major capital projects. NOTE: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 or GS-15 level. Limit your resume to no more than two (2) pages.
