Facilities & IT Support Officer – 12 months maternity contract 4 days office based and one day working from home Candidates applying for this role should be available to start early to mid October 2026 “Help us change lives through work-class medical research” Charity People have partnered with Medical Research Foundation to help recruit a Facilities and IT support Officer. This is a maternity contract where you will be the key point of contact between the Foundation and their IT support and building management providers.

Reporting to the Facilities and Operations Manager, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional workplace experience and ensuring our office environment is safe, efficient and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day office facilities, liaising with building management, contractors and service providers to resolve maintenance and operational issues. Oversee office health and safety requirements, including first aid and fire marshal responsibilities, and supporting a safe working environment. Act as the first point of contact for staff IT queries, troubleshooting common issues and coordinating with external IT support providers.
Coordinate IT equipment, new starter and leaver processes, user account administration, and technology rollouts across the organisation. Drive operational improvements, champion excellent customer service, and support sustainability initiatives and workplace projects. Person Specification Previous experience in facilities management, office operations, IT support, or a similar role. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership and see tasks through to a successful conclusion.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint, alongside basic IT administration skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working effectively with suppliers, contractors and colleagues. Highly organised, adaptable and customer-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
