EU remote
European Entity Controller
About this role
LemFi (Series B) is building the go-to financial app for the Global South. Moving to a new country shouldn’t mean starting from zero. That's why our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live. What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth.
With millions of users across the globe, we process over $1B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity. ABOUT THE ROLE LemFi's European business is built around a Central Bank of Ireland-authorised payment institution that began trading in 2026 and is the hub for our growth across the EU. As European Entity Controller, reporting to the Head of Finance Europe, you are the day-to-day finance lead for all our European entities - owning the close, the statutory accounts, the regulatory returns and the safeguarding work that keeps our CBI licence in good standing.
You will partner closely with the Head of Finance Europe and local leadership on board reporting, tax and business decisions, and with Group Finance on accounting policy, the close timetable and consolidation. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a fast-moving fintech: the kind of place where the work is real, the stakes are tangible and there is no one else to hand it to. WHAT YOU'LL BUILD AND OWN - Own the monthly European close - deliver accurate, on-time results for all European entities, aligned to Group timetables and accounting policies.
- Prepare and file statutory accounts - FRS 102 / IFRS under the Companies Act 2014, filed with the CRO on time, with a clean audit every year. - Own CBI regulatory reporting - prepare own-funds and capital adequacy returns for review by the Head of Finance Europe, with no surprises. - Meet daily safeguarding requirements - prepare the daily safeguarding calculation, review reconciliations, escalate breaches and support the annual safeguarding audit.
- Prepare board-level reporting - build board packs on performance, capital, safeguarding and regulatory matters for the local board and its committees. - Partner with Group Finance and local leadership - align accounting policies, agree intercompany balances, support consolidation and feed into budgets and business decisions. - Automate and scale the function - work with Finance Systems and Data to reduce manual effort in regulatory and close processes, and document procedures so the function is resilient.
