About this role
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. AND Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Applying epidemiological methods to collect, validate, and analyze public health data to identify disease patterns, health trends, and factors affecting population health. Evaluating public health program activities using established scientific methods to assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Providing technical assistance on epidemiologic methods, data collection procedures, and public health practices to support program implementation and ensure adherence to established scientific standards. Preparing statistical summaries, technical reports, and presentation materials that communicated epidemiologic findings to support evidence-based public health decision-making. OR Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR Have a combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification.
