Specialized Experience at the GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing quality assurance inspections on construction projects to ascertain compliance with contract requirements; 2) Developing technical specifications for facility construction projects to support planning and design efforts; 3) Managing installation construction projects by coordinating with stakeholders to resolve project issues; AND 4) Evaluating contractor shop drawings to verify compliance with engineering project requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Specialized Experience at the GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing technical specifications for facility construction projects to support planning and design efforts; 2) Managing installation construction projects by coordinating with stakeholders to resolve project issues; AND 3) Evaluating contractor shop drawings to verify compliance with engineering project requirements.

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Planning facilities construction, maintenance, or repair projects; 2) Identifying factual engineering issues using standard analytical techniques; AND 3) Interpreting basic technical guidelines and manuals to complete engineering tasks.
