ENGINEER OR SCIENTIST

About this role

For ND-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist (1) Knowledge of Department of Defense systems engineering standard technical disciplines; (2) Ability to identify, analyze and determine causes of problems, seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions, and makes timely and sound recommendations based on potential implications of findings or conclusions; (3) Knowledge of a broad spectrum of Undersea Warfare Systems, technologies and processes; (4) Ability in the application of the results of scientific and/or engineering research to improve existing products, procedures, or services or to lead to the development of new products, procedures, or services; (5) Ability to develop networks and builds alliances, collaborates across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals; and (6) Ability to effectively communicate ideas, policies and procedures both orally and in writing to diverse engineering teams and/or senior personnel.

For ND-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-9/10/11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist (1) Knowledge of Department of Defense systems engineering standard technical disciplines; (2) Ability to identify, analyze and determine causes of technical problems, seek and evaluate alternative solutions, and make timely recommendations; (3) Knowledge of a broad spectrum of Undersea Warfare Systems, technologies and processes; (4) Ability to apply scientific and/or engineering research to improve existing products, procedures or services; (5) Ability to develop professional networks, build alliances, and collaborate across organizational boundaries to achieve technical goals; and (6) Ability to effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing to engineering teams and customers.
