Digital Pathology Assistant (12 Month FTC) Salary: £26,522 per annum Contract: Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hours) Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30–17:00 Location: Blended - primarily on‑site at the Digital Telepathology Hub, Lab 507, The Heath Business & Technical Park, Runcorn WA7 4QX, with some flexibility between home and hub depending on business need. Make a difference in diagnostics Join Medica as a Digital Pathology Assistant and play a key role in delivering safe, efficient diagnostic services for patients.

You’ll help run our Digital Telepathology Hub - organising workflow, scanning and quality checking slides and images, and collaborating with clinical colleagues and clients to keep the service moving smoothly. Training is provided on all equipment and systems. (Also known as: Telepathology Assistant, Digital Histology Technician, Pathology Workflow Coordinator.) What you’ll do Receive and unpack casework and stock; book cases into the IT system Scan slides using the P1000 and manage images in Sectra PACS Complete quality checks to recognised procedures and resolve discrepancies Coordinate collections/uplift and keep the lab area safe and tidy (housekeeping routines and equipment checks) Communicate clearly with colleagues, pathologists, clients and external partners to meet agreed clinical requirements Work in line with ISO 15189 (and, where applicable, ISO 27001 & ISO 9001 ) and relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018 , GDPR and Caldicott Principles Why Medica?
