Introduction to the role The Digital Communications Coordinator will coordinate the digital communications for Surrey Coalition of Disabled People as well as the projects/networks that we coordinate such as The Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN).
Purpose of the role To lead on the coordination, design and delivery of vibrant and engaging communications for The Coalition. We want to expand our reach and increase our engagement. You will help us to achieve this: Through building our existing social media channels as well as researching/implementing new channels Keeping The Coalition website updated with fresh and engaging content Developing marketing materials for our events/social activities and services/projects Being the expert in digital accessibility Main responsibilities Craft/develop content for the Coalition’s social media channels including You Tube and the website Co-ordinate and develop an ongoing schedule of new content for each of the social media platforms, ensuring this is in line with the overall organisation’s activities Monitor networks/trending topics to ensure that the Coalition maximises any opportunities to respond to appropriate topics Provide analysis of the effectiveness of our content through regular reporting including key metrics such as reach, impressions and engagement Keep the website updated – including making changes to pages as well as building new ones To ensure that our communications are available in a wide range of formats that meets the accessibility needs of our membership Working with the wider staff and volunteer team, to identify and generate compelling case studies and examples of our work To be the brand guardian for the organisation To develop the knowledge of the staff team around effective communications, and contribute to team training and development To develop Coalition News, our quarterly Newsletter To attend member events to capture content for communications across all channels To support fundraising with developing appropriate content for funding applications and reporting Help develop and implement a 3 year communications and marketing strategy for the charity Draft press releases as required and liaise with members, staff and journalists to organise coverage.
