About this role
We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Despatch Operative to join our team at our Flixton site near Bungay. Weekly pay: £546.94 Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off Working hours: 6:00am–6:00pm As a Despatch Operative, you will help ensure finished products are checked, recorded and prepared correctly before leaving the site. You will work closely with our warehouse, production and transport teams to maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, safety and customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include: • Monitoring product quality throughout the despatch process. • Carrying out and accurately recording temperature checks. • Completing despatch paperwork and recording information clearly and accurately. • Ensuring products are prepared and despatched in accordance with customer specifications. • Checking orders for accuracy before they leave the site. • Supporting compliance with relevant legal, transport and food-safety requirements.
• Communicating with warehouse, production and transport colleagues to resolve discrepancies or delays. • Following all health and safety, food-safety, hygiene and quality procedures. • Identifying opportunities to maintain and improve systems and processes. • Reporting any product, documentation, temperature or quality concerns promptly. Previous export, despatch, logistics or transport-administration experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential as training will be provided.
We are looking for candidates who: • Have strong administration and organisational skills. • Can complete paperwork accurately and maintain reliable records. • Are able to manage several tasks and priorities within a fast-paced environment. • Have excellent communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach. • Can work effectively with warehouse, manufacturing and transport teams. • Have good attention to detail and can identify errors or discrepancies.
• Can work independently while contributing positively to the wider team. • Are comfortable working within warehouse and manufacturing areas. • Are willing to wear the required personal protective equipment while working on site. • Have an understanding of transport, export or logistics compliance, although this is desirable rather than essential. Previous experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, freight, food-production or transport environment would also be beneficial.
