Datacentre Deployment Lead
About this role
ABOUT NEXGEN CLOUD NexGen Cloud is a fast-growing GPU cloud and AI infrastructure business. We're the company behind Hyperstack — a self-serve, on-demand cloud platform built for high-performance AI, HPC, and compute-heavy workloads. Powered by 100% renewable energy and NVIDIA architecture, Hyperstack gives teams from AI startups to enterprise the compute they need, without the cost or complexity of legacy cloud. We move fast, solve hard problems, and build things that matter.
If you want ownership, real impact, and a front-row seat to one of the most consequential infrastructure shifts of the decade — this is the place. THE ROLE: DATA CENTRE DEPLOYMENT LEAD We're building GPU clusters across multiple international regions, and none of that capacity reaches customers until it's racked, cabled, commissioned and handed over. Our Senior Deployment Lead owns the pipeline but can't be on every site at once, so we need a senior onsite authority who can lead each build and hold every region to the same standard.
This is a role for someone who's happiest on the data centre floor making the call, not waiting for one. You'll lead a team of 3–5 Deployment Engineers through each build, catch problems at planning before hardware lands, and hand over sites that Operations can run from day two. Expect around 50% international travel, remote-first in between. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Rather than a checklist, here's what success in this role actually looks like: Own each site as the onsite decision-maker, leading Deployment Engineers day to day, directing contractors safely, and escalating only what genuinely sits beyond onsite authority.
Collaborate closely with the Senior Deployment Lead, Network Engineering, Procurement & Supply Chain, and Data Centre Operations/NOC to take every build from validated design to clean handover. Validate design plans and BOMs before hardware arrives, checking space, power, cooling, weight and interoperability (optics, AOC, DAC) so issues are fixed at planning, not on site. Produce and validate structured and fibre cabling designs, including length estimates, oversee cable pathing, and run cabling QC so every install matches the design before sign-off.
