Data Scientist - DIRECT HIRE

About this role

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must (1) meet the Education Requirement for the series, (2) provide a copy of transcripts for verification, AND (3) meet either the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. To qualify for the GS-13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include: Experience leading the research and design of artificial intelligence tools and computer-learning software to automate daily work processes, solve business problems, and meet organizational goals.

Experience setting up and overseeing data management procedures to maintain data quality and accuracy across multiple integrated enterprise systems to support daily operations. Experience explaining technical data science and artificial intelligence topics by writing project reports, giving presentations for technical staff, non-technical team members, and senior executives. To qualify for the GS-14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include: Experience directing an organization-wide research and development program to design, test, and deploy artificial intelligence software and data science models that automate workflows and modernize business systems.

Experience developing and implementing enterprise data management policies across multiple organizational divisions to guarantee data quality, protect system security, and achieve long-term performance targets. Experience explaining technical data science and artificial intelligence topics by writing reports, giving presentations, and running software demonstrations for technical staff, non-technical team members, and senior leadership.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Artificial Intelligence - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used to design systems that perform human intelligence functions. Research - Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results.
