CWMD Planner

About this role

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Experience developing contingency and/or campaign related plans on a combatant command, defense agency, Joint Staff, Military Service Headquarters, or equivalent level staff; Experience analyzing, researching, and/or developing strategy, doctrine, programs, and procedures related to military CWMD missions and national security strategies; Experience researching suspected problem areas, identifying key variables or factors, and developing practical and innovative recommendations based on knowledge of the organization's long and short term goals; Knowledge of US national strategy to include the DoW Strategy to Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), CWMD plans, programs, intelligence, doctrine, policy and USG actors to include OSW, Joint Staff, CCMDs, Military Services and the Service components of CCMDs, and Defense/Combat Support Agencies, and; Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare and present major staff studies, fact sheets, and executive-level decision briefs, as well as to articulate and negotiate complex issues with senior leadership and external partners.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
