CONTRACT SPECIALIST

About this role

For the GS-13: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing the full range of pre and post award contractual actions required in the procurement of services, construction, or facility support services; 2) Interpreting and ensuring that contract actions are in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards or procedures; 3) Reviewing procurement requests to assure clarity, adequacy, and completeness; 4) Serving as contractual authority on the acceptability and applicability of contractual matters on contract actions, and providing advice, training, guidance, and interpretation to the team on procurement regulations, policies, and procedures.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying a wide range of contracting methods and contract types to plan and carry out both pre-award and post-award procurement actions; 2) Assisting technical specialists/customers in the preparation of statements of work, planning of procurement strategies, and identifying potential contractors and/or sources; 3) Applying contracting policies and procedures, negotiation techniques, and technical requirements to negotiate procurement of supplies and services.
