COMPUTER SCIENTIST

About this role

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading the design, development, integration, and architectural oversight of interactive real-time 3D software applications, AR/VR/XR (Augmented/Virtual/Extended) Reality simulation systems, and spatial computing environments.

Qualifying experience includes applying computer science principles; designing scalable spatial architectures, data structures, and rendering pipelines; translating mission, customer, and training requirements into technical requirements, user stories, algorithms, data models, and implementable software solutions; and providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary development teams using real-time 3D engines such as Unity.

The experience must demonstrate the ability to serve as the primary computational architect and technical coordinator for advanced AR/VR/XR training simulations, including conducting code and design reviews, establishing technical standards, optimizing software and 3D assets for target hardware, managing Agile/Scrum development activities, and coordinating among customers, product owners, artists, programmers, and other stakeholders.
