About this role

A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience and demonstrated expertise in prevention initiatives is required at HQMC level and throughout Marine Corps Commands. Relevant education may be substituted for experience. Skill to independently oversee day-to-day operation of an ongoing program of large scope and/or involving significant difficulty and responsibility that encompasses mission, function, operation, activity, laws, rules and regulations authorized and funded.

Knowledge of social services work, counseling services, psychosocial principles and theories, and group dynamics of military and individual systems to include knowledge of suicide prevention, and operational stress control and readiness (OSCAR), and primary prevention. Comprehensive knowledge of the laws, policies, regulations, precedent-setting situations and overall Marine Corps goals and objectives pertaining to prevention programs.

Ability to express self orally and in writing in a highly professional manner, sufficient to prepare and conduct briefings to an audience of high-ranking military and civilian dignitaries, to meet and work with diversified groups, individuals and organizations, and to compose written reports and material clearly, concisely and effectively.
