About this role
Ardent is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position. Position Description: Ardent is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to design, support, and optimize secure network connectivity across cloud, hybrid, on-premises, and legacy environments. The engineer will troubleshoot complex network and integration issues, monitor performance and availability, support approved infrastructure changes, and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties: Design, implement, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot authorized network connectivity across cloud, hybrid, on-premises, and mainframe-connected environments, including routing, switching, segmentation, DNS, load balancing, security groups, firewalls, virtual networks, and approved gateway services. Monitor and analyze network health, latency, throughput, availability, utilization, packet loss, errors, and integration performance; identify emerging capacity or reliability risks and coordinate preventive or corrective action.
Maintain current network diagrams, inventories, address and routing information, configurations, interface dependencies, monitoring thresholds, support procedures, and evidence in Government-approved repositories and ticketing systems. Investigate and resolve network incidents and service requests; isolate faults across application, infrastructure, gateway, cloud-service, and legacy boundaries; restore service when authorized or coordinate timely escalation.
Support resilient and secure bidirectional connectivity, data synchronization, and hybrid monitoring behind the Cloud Service Gateway while applying least privilege, separation of duties, and approved configuration standards. Plan and support approved network and integration changes through Government change-control procedures, including impact analysis, testing, implementation evidence, rollback planning, validation, and CAB support.
Prepare accurate monthly hybrid integration, connectivity, availability, capacity, incident, and change-management reporting inputs, including SLA performance, breaches, root causes, trends, risks, and corrective actions. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in network engineering, cloud networking, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical field.
