About this role
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Progressive experience that demonstrates the ability to plan, supervise, administer or carry out fitness, sports and aquatics programs that include a variety of individuals and team sports and events; and ability to manage staff that guide participants in developing the skills for participation in sports, fitness, and aquatics activities.
The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower level. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Those that possesses a four-year degree in physical education or equivalent and directly related work experience as indicated above. Possess at least two year of experience directing, planning or managing physical fitness, athletic, or aquatic facilities or programs.
Possess at least one year of experience coordinating or administering contracts for fitness instructors, sports officials, or related recreation services. Possess at least one year of experience initiating, reviewing, or coordinating facility repairs, modifications, and work requirements with public works (DPW) or engineering departments. Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager.
