About this role
To support a growing health system, the full-time Certified Professional Coder will accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records, manage billing and collections for client databases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, all while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various patient types, including inpatient and outpatient records Review and analyze medical records for deficiencies, ensuring accurate reflection of diagnoses and procedures Abstract clinical data and verify patient account accuracy to support billing and reimbursement processes Required qualifications: Minimum of one year of professional coding experience Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, or CPC) required Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices Experience with electronic medical record systems for data entry and retrieval Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and health information management practices
