About this role
We are recruiting our new Merchandise/Demand Planner ! Within the Global Deployment Merchandising & Planning team, you will play a key role in sales forecasting and in aligning customer demand with our industrial capabilities for the Apparel category. You will actively contribute to the S&OP process and work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance teams. Support the Merch HQ Deployment team in developing and validating regional sales and demand plans for assigned markets.
Support the Merch HQ Deployment team in creating phased sales and demand plans by region, distribution channel, and SKU at item, channel, and regional levels. Collect regional sales and demand plans and facilitate Regional Demand Management Reviews (Regional DMRs) for assigned markets. Analyze sales plans and buffer viability. Share insights with the Merch HQ Deployment team to challenge plans, focusing on gaps, inconsistencies, timing issues, and product prioritization.
Ensure sales and demand plans are uploaded into planning systems. Ensure adherence to the demand review governance and meeting cadence. Provide outputs from regional demand reviews to the Merchandise/Demand Planning Leader in preparation for Global Demand Review meetings. Ensure overall consistency of processes and planning tool utilization. Monitor regional forecast accuracy and drive corrective action plans related to service levels and inventory performance for assigned markets.
Analyze regional forecast accuracy and identify key drivers of forecast variances across regions. Monitor local inventory levels on a monthly basis (e.g., days of inventory), highlight overstock or stock-out risks, service level performance, and corrective action plans with regional teams and Supply Planning. Ensure execution and follow-up of inventory reduction plans in line with inventory management (EMG) guidelines.
Specific Activity – Responsible Purchasing Practices (FLA) Ensure compliance with the Workplace Code of Conduct and the Fair Labor Association's Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing Principles throughout the supply chain. Work closely with Salomon’s Global Sustainability team to support the continuous improvement of responsible purchasing practices. Collaborate with Amer Sports’ Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team during quarterly business reviews and training/capability-building initiatives (at least annually).
